Typically I balance my weeks with secret sewing and shareable sewing. However this week, I did a LOT of secret sewing and very little (aka none) shareable sewing! I can't wait to be able to share some of the projects I have been working on with everyone in the (near-ish) future. I did want to share a new project that I've given myself. It shouldn't be a secret that I absolutely adore Barn Quilts and love their style. I ended up buying both Barn Quilts and the American Quilt Trail Movement
In the past, I have toyed around with designing some sort of quilt-along, but never got past the idea phase. My love of barn quilts has made this project a must for me to do. I am planning on making a quilt-along inspired by Barn Quilts. It may end up as a large sampler quilt or several mini quilts with options to make larger. I am still working through all the designs I want to utilize and what this would shape up to be. What option do you like, sampler quilt or multiple mini quilts?
As for timing for this quilt-along, you'll hear about it here first! I'm looking at getting this all designed and prepped so that it will be take place in early 2019! Yes, I know that's a long time away, but these things take a long time to set up, make, test, and put together.
As for other really fun things this month, I am the Queen of both of my beehives, and I've started to get blocks from my swarms! Here are the 4 blocks that I've received so far! I got to pick the pattern (Wanta Fanta Block), and I requested that the colors be vibrant and bright!
I was lucky enough to get into Modern Stitching Affair from the waitlist this year, and the event starts on my birthday, next Thursday! Happy Birthday to me, I can't wait!!
