Have you ever seen a new fabric line and thought I know EXACTLY what I want to make with that?! That's what happened to me when I saw Night of the Nutcracker by Paintbrush Studio Fabrics. Paintbrush Studio Fabrics is based out of North Kansas City and is a fabric manufacturer that has some really cute prints and lots of beautiful solids. Paintbrush Studio Fabrics also provided the fabric for me to make this remake!
I love the vibrant beautiful colors in this "holiday" fabric that makes it useful and usable all year round. The nutcrackers are just so cute and the blenders are amazingly bold. It's been a long time since I've revisited a few of my older patterns and I knew that this quilt would look fantastic in Circular Illusion!
Even though the pattern calls for small pieces, these big prints still look great and the colors shine through.
This complicated looking quilt goes together super fast and is great for a beginner! Because the pattern pulls the color from each print, it can be used year round without being a "holiday only" quilt!
The pattern comes in 6 different sizes and is fat quarter and fat eighth friendly. This particular quilt was made with fat quarters and finished at 60"x72", a perfect lap quilt size!
This is also the very first quilt that I edge to edge longarmed on my Amara! Owning my own longarm seriously cut down my time on getting things done! I joke that my studio is now "Sherry's Quilt Factory!"
