Tool Time Part 2: The Reveal!

I got my Tool Time quilt finished, YAY!  As a reminder from yesterday, the Island Batik Ambassador Challenge this month is Tool Time, use a tool or a specialty ruler to create a lap-sized quilt.  The fabrics and batting showcased in this post were given to me by Island Batik and Hobbs Batting as a part of the ambassador program.

I used Hobbs Heirloom Natural Cotton Batting to longarm this quilt top.  Part of my boo-boo yesterday was incorrectly measuring the backing length that I needed so I had to add another piece to one of the sides. Good thing it still turned out okay.

I used Chantilly Lace as my edge to edge motif on my quilt.  You may need to click the photo to enlarge to see the quilting.

So here it is, the full reveal!

The quilt finished at about 60"x65" and used a Mermaid Cove strip pack for the center part and binding.  The butterflies were made with the Wonder Curve Ruler and used coordinating basics.

Since Island Batik strip packs are 2 strips of each SKU, I took 15 of the prints and mirrored the fabrics from the center to create a 60" wide section.  I then trimmed the tops and bottom to create my almost width of fabric center before adding the butterflies to the top and bottom.
