Tiffany Bag Review!

This past Saturday, I attempted to stream the making of my Tiffany Bag by Sallie Tomato.  I tripped the circuit breaker twice which subsequently cut my stream abruptly.  I did some quick troubleshooting, but nothing yet on what caused it.  However, it didn't happen again after I started streaming for the third time so I was able to finish the Tiffany Bag.  Isn't it adorable?

The bag took me about 4.5 hours to complete once I got stable power in my sewing room.  I really love the shape of the bag, but there are a few things that I would change about the pattern.

I decided to take the D-rings off the sides of the bag and forgo the carrying strap.  If you do decide to make the bag with the D-rings and straps, make sure to add interfacing to make it a bit stiffer.  I actually had them on my bag but decided to seam rip them off at the end.  Do you see the slip pocket on the front?

The front is the bottom part of the photo above.  The slip pocket goes across the entire front of the bag and goes all the way down the bag. Super easy to do, but not very useful!  Since the slip pocket is clasped with the strap arches, the slip pocket doesn't open wide at all!

That is the furthest I can put my hand in the slip pocket, and I'm not really sure how I would be able to get to anything at the bottom of the slip pocket.

I really do love this bag, but the next one I make will not have a slip pocket and I'll forgo the strap.

The inner liner was a drop-in and topstitched with zipper.  This was the first time I had made a bag with this type of construction.  There was no interfacing on the lining and it was super floppy.  I would consider putting SF101 on the lining to give it a bit more body.

What do you think of the Tiffany Bag?
