I finished the Trailblazer Convertible Backpack this last Saturday! It took another 3 hours to complete, to make a total time of about 7 hours from start to finish for the bag.
The interior of the bag has an interior zipper pocket and two slip pockets on the other lining panel.
I made the straps slightly longer than the pattern to be able to use it as a crossbody AND a backpack strap. This is why the pattern needed 5 D rings.
My thoughts on the pattern:
- Bagstock patterns are beginner-friendly! She always writes them very easy to follow.
- There are a lot of pieces in this pattern, but it was really easy to change the front slip pocket to a zipper pocket! The sizes are pretty much the same!
- I actually didn't need to make the backpack straps longer. They are actually slightly too long now for the backpack style since the slider is very far up.
Bag Details:
- Pattern: Trailblazer Convertible Backpack by Bagstock Designs
- Vinyl: Golden Shimmer from Bo Dee-Oh
- Hardware: Geeky Hardware (except the mouse rivets)
What are your sewing plans this weekend? Tomorrow is Quilt in a Day! I did update the image of what we will be making because the original image in my newsletter was probably going to take longer than a day to create. I'll be starting tomorrow at 8am Mountain on my Twitch channel. Come hang out, chat, and sew!
This also means that Simply Sparkles is available to the public today and Simply Jagged is available to my Patrons on Patreon!
Another bit of news, in case you missed it in my newsletter, I'm selling reservations for kits of my newest BOM releasing later this year! Kits purchased as reservations will come with some extra goodies from me! (Think spools of thread, additional fabric, etc.) Check out the details here!
