New pattern without a pattern... yet! I'm still super excited to share this quilt because I love how it turned out. The move made me refocus on what I could spend my time on and unfortunately writing this pattern didn't make the cut. It will become a pattern, but not until 2022.
The quilt is made from Gathering fabric designed by Shelley Cavanna of Cora's Quilts for Benartex Fabrics. The fabric should be shipping to shops now! The quilt was originally designed with nine-patch squares in all of the pluses, but with the larger floral prints in this fabric collection, I opted to make a solid square for half of the blocks to showcase the pretty prints!
If you watch me on Twitch, I made half of these blocks on stream as a sneak peek back in September. The quilt comes together rather quickly but it's not quite "quilt-in-a-day" fast.
I ended up using the Cake Walk motif with a light pink thread as my edge-to-edge quilting pattern. I'm missing my longarm the most right now in temporary housing, but I'll be sure to have a stack of quilts ready to go when I finally get access back to it!
Quilt Facts:
- Pattern: Checkboard Plus by Me! (Pattern coming soon!)
- Fabric: Gathering by Shelley Cavanna of Cora's Quilts
- Thread: Aurifil
- Batting: Warm and Plush

I'll be making this quilt pattern again over the holidays in a different collection as well! You know it's a fun pattern when you want to make it again and again!
