New Pocket Pal!

In the spirit of remaking some of my very first bags/non-quilty items, I thought it was time to remake my wallet, a Pocket Pal by Linds Handmade.  I decided to use a 1" seatbelt webbing for the snap closure rather than making a vinyl flap closure.  I think the seatbelt worked perfectly!  The edges were easy to singe with a lighter to keep it from fraying.

Normally the pattern is blank on the other side, but I decided to add a vinyl window for my ID to be shown with the ID securely placed in the main zipper pocket.

As you can see, I cut out the window and added a glitter clear vinyl piece to see my "ID" or in this case a Walt Disney World ticket from November.  The second line of stitching around the window is to secure the ID from moving out of the viewing window and keep it securely in the same spot.

The interior of the zipper pocket has a slip pocket where the ID is placed and a larger pocket to put all the other cards inside.

The edges were coated using edge paint.  I really dislike using edge paint but it gives the item a much nicer finish.  This was the same UV Changing vinyl I used in my laptop bag so I used a purple edge paint to match when the Pocket Pal is exposed to UV.

All in all, I'm really happy with how this Pocket Pal turned out.  Since it was a remake, I knew I figured out how to add the ID window modification.  However I didn't put any dimensions down the first time, I had to completely refigure out how to make the modification.  I'm glad it worked out!

Bag/Item Details:

Wow, I'm proud I could remember all the different places I purchased things as this was a hodge podge of stuff!

What is your favorite wallet size? I actually have made multiple wallets in the past, but I always go back to the Pocket Pal.  Perfect size to use in a purse or individually!
