I made lots of small things this last weekend, but my favorite is the Mini Zippy Clutch from Amy Lynne Designs.
I ended up making 2 identical minis and they turned out super cute. The front pocket isn't quite large enough for credit cards to go in and out easily, but a good size for money and change. The main pocket is great for a lot of cards or other items. I added a hook at the end so that I could attach the mini zippy to my keys for on-the-go carrying of necessities.
Thoughts on the pattern:
- The Butler Method for the main zipper is pretty awesome. I really love it and I think I'll be using it more in the future!
- For the mini, I actually don't think I will be using cork or vinyl for the exterior again. It was really thick and bulky for the size of the item. I think I will use quilting cotton and interface with some stiffer interfacing (but not in the seam allowances).
- The main zippy clutch is actually HUGE. Like way bigger than I would ever personally use so I don't see myself making many more of them in the future.
- Honestly, a size in between the Zippy Clutch and the mini would be ideal for me.
Also, I did make a full sized zippy clutch, but I forgot to take a photo of it.
As a reminder, I'm not streaming tomorrow as I'm in Disney World for Marathon weekend! I'll see you next weekend for Month 1 of the Starlight BOM!
