Starlight BOM Month 1

Look at my beautiful block!  I made it on stream on Saturday!

The block from start to finish took about 2-3 hours to make. The real-time video will be on Twitch until Jan 28 so there is still time to get the pattern and sew along with me. I go through each step of how I foundation paper piece and sew the block together!  If you miss out, don't worry because I'll be live every 2nd Saturday for the rest of the year sewing that month's block.  The best part about FPP is that it's a technique and it's the same technique used on the block regardless of what the block looks like!

After I finished the block, I decided to continue working with FPP and make a few more units in my Elephant Abstractions quilt. I realized that getting into FPP is like a state of mind and flipping between traditional piecing and FPP has always been really difficult for me.  I decided to actually finish enough units to start semi-assembling the quilt top together!  I can't wait to continue working on this quilt each month after I make the Starlight BOM block for that month.  Here's the progress so far:

Isn't it adorable?!  Keep in mind that I started on this quilt almost 4 years ago and haven't sewn anything for almost a year for this quilt.  I will be aiming to finish it this year!

What are your thoughts on FPP?  Love it?  Hate it?
