Last weekend, I decided to sew up another Passion Flower Tote by Blue Calla Patterns that I'd cut out over the last few weeks. I had all the pieces cut out and interfaced for both an R2D2 inspired bag and a BB8 inspired bag. I was not able to finish both bags, but I did get close and subsequently finished off stream the R2D2 inspired bag!
I used all vinyl for the exterior and water-resistant canvas for the interior. I used my notes from the first time I made the bag to have the interior slip pocket at a better spot and also had helpful prep steps to do a drop-in lining since birthing the bag with the all Decovil light interfacing was going to be extremely difficult.
Overall, I still LOVE this bag design and really love the inspired bag even though I'm not really a Star Wars fan. I kept having to ask my husband which hardware I should get to not make my bag look incorrect! Starbirds can be found EVERYWHERE on this bag with the front magnet, zipper pulls, chicago screws, and even the zipper end!
Bag Details:
- Pattern: Passion Flower Tote by Blue Calla Patterns
- Vinyl and Water Resistant Canvas: Fabric Mail, BoDeeOh, and Fabric Warehouse Direct
- Hardware: all over honestly - all in Nickel
Tomorrow will be the "official" bag day for April. As usual, I'll start at 9am central on my Twitch channel, come hang out, chat, and sew!
