My first blog post! (YAY!)
This blog is going to be dedicated to sharing my passion for quilting.
I'm an engineer by background, so I thrive with lists and goals (and completions)! I will be giving "weekly updates" to share progress on my WIPs, keep myself accountable, and plan the next week's goals on quilting.
Throughout the week, I will blog on topics such as what I do to maximize efficiency, show you my favorite new fabric line releases, what BOMs are going on, etc. (#goalsetting) Some of the topics may be relevant to other parts of life, but there is going to be definitely a quilting spin.
So let's get started!
8/30 - 9/5 Weekly Goal:
Available time for quilting:
Tuesday night, Wednesday night, Monday (Labor Day)
Projects I want to work on:
Steampunk, Cozy Christmas Weekly BOM
Goals for the project:
Steampunk: Complete 10 blocks, no appliqued circle yet. Cut out center circles.
Cozy Christmas Weekly BOM: Complete Week 4 Block, Finish cutting sashing and borders, Sew Row 1 together
Tips for goal setting:
- Identify the amount of time you have available first. This will help you understand your constraints.
- Make your plan, but understand that if the mood doesn't fit, you can always change it!
- Make sure your goals are realistic and if you are just starting out, make sure they are attainable. There is nothing more demotivating than not being able to hit your goals! Start small, and once you start making progress, make larger goals!
