At Disney for Friday Foto Fun #13

Happy Friday everyone!  I survived the first week back in reality...I mean work.  It was a super short 3 day week for me since Monday was New Year's Day, and I'm on vacation today!  I'm nice and warm in Orlando, FL for the Walt Disney World Marathon this Sunday.  It's not going to be the best run as I've been plagued with foot injuries all Fall!  But I want that 25th anniversary medal, so I will finish it even if I'm hobbling over the finish line! I've seen some really cool quilts made out of the run shirts from the Run Disney events.  The quilts are amazing, but I don't have the heart to cut up my shirts yet!

Now here are this week's fun fotos.

Do you know what block this is?  It's my first Ombre Gems block made out of Confetti fabric!  There are only 30 more full blocks and 18 half blocks to finish the quilt.  This was the one quilt I called out in my 2018 planning party because I missed the QAL last year.  However, I must say the pattern in the Love Patchwork & Quilting magazine is a bit frustrating. I have learned I am a visual person, and the figures for the pattern are inconsistent and confusing!  But I figured it out and will use my first block as my model for my subsequent blocks!

I also haven't shared my last two 2017 finishes.  This mini quilt I free motion quilted back in August, but forgot to put binding on it!  I found it in my stack and was able to finish it right before the new year!  It's now hanging up by my cutting table.

This is my Starbucks mug rug swap.  I opted for straight line quilting on this cutie.  The pattern is by Quiet Play and it's completely paper pieced.  I reduced the size of the pattern to 66% to get the finish about 8" square.  It's all packaged up ready to send off to my partner!

Early this week I was also notified that I will be one of the Island Batik Ambassadors for 2018!  I am so unbelievably excited!  I can't wait to be able to make and subsequently share projects made from these beautiful fabrics!  Stay tuned for more!

That's all I have for this week.  I hope everyone is staying warm!
