Bee Hives! (Friday Foto Fun #24)
It's almost April, which means it's ALMOST time for my turn to be Queen bee in both of my bee hives! I've picked out my block, but I haven't made a sample yet. I think I'm going to go for a scrappy look. But first I need to show off my blocks that I made for the Queens this month! First up is this really awesome Double Star Block!
I actually really love this classic block, and it looks so amazing repeated! This is a digital mock up of my photograph repeated into a 4 by 4 grid.
My second block is called Ripples, and the Queen asked for a bright scrappy look!
This block also makes a really great secondary design when repeated!
I think being in the bee hives is really fun, and I get to see other people's styles for the same types of blocks! I can't wait until April! Really I just can't wait for the snow to go away!
There is also so really exciting news that's coming, enough for me to consider creating a Facebook Group for my community to be able to control who reads some of this news first! Some things I just can't publicly announce on my blog just yet. What do you think? Would a Facebook Group be of interest to you?
There is one thing that I can publicly share… If you were following the I Wish You A Merry QAL and were in our Facebook Group, did you notice the name change? We are officially Partners In Design, where friends and fabric meet! This is foreshadowing of really fun things to come and I'm so excited!
I'm actually home this entire next week for the first time in a long while. I can't wait to give my machine a workout!

- When you link up a post, please try to support the others folks in the linky party! Let's spread the motivation and support to help everyone make progress in their own time.
- Your post does not need to be something quilty you accomplished, but definitely encouraged. Sometimes life just gets in the way, but feel free to share something you are proud of this week.
- In your blog post, please include a link back to my blog or grab the Friday Foto Fun Button and put it on your sidebar. This way others who visit your blog can also join in on the fun!

I’m becoming less and less of a facebook fan. With their algorithms it is hard to tell if your fans would be able to see your content in a timely manner. The other question would be will you be putting different content on facebook or just sharing your current content? How much more of your time will be invested with adding facebook.
I have to admit I don’t spend as much time on Facebook anymore, although I do watch for groups I’m interested in. I love your two blocks, especially that double star. Nice!
I am interested in a group, but I am disappointed in Facebook and thinking of dropping my account. I hardly use it anyway, but I did use it for the Christmas QAL group.
Sherry, love your two blocks! The colors on the double star are especially catchy! Will be watching for what you partners in design are up to.
Double Star block is gorgeous in those colors!
Love that double star! I’m not a huge fan of facebook for general quilting news, I’d rather read it on a blog. I figure that’s the point of following my favorites, so I get their news first, but that may just be me. I only use facebook groups for actual projects I’m doing, like the Christmas quilt along.
They are all really fun blocks and I love seeing them in a “quilt”. I wish facebook wasn’t such a troubling place these days. I am thinking of doing a business facebook – but I may just wait a little longer to see the fallout. I am in a number of groups and now it feels like too many – but I would certainly join yours – so I am wondering where the next “platform” will be. Both instagram and facebook get so cluttered if you are not on it a lot, you miss things or they “disappear” in your feed. Ok – that’s enough rant for me.
