We’re Moving!!! (Friday Foto Fun #32)
My husband and I are moving to Kansas City this summer! I got a new role with my company, and it was finally announced this week, so now I'm sharing! It's been a crazy couple of weeks because the process of getting the job was so much slower compared to after I accepted the job. Now it's all go go go move to KC now!
So what does this mean for my blog and my pattern business? Hopefully minimal impact. I'm still at Quilt Market this weekend to make connections for future collaborations. I'm trying to make it so I am not without my sewing machine for any long period of time.
While I'm at market, I am running an Etsy shop sale for all PDF and Paper patterns. I finally got more of my patterns printed! Use the code MISSINGMARKET for 25% off until the end of day May 21.
Today I'm sharing the wrap up of my beehives! I was the queen bee for 2 different hives, but I had both hives make the same Wanta Fanta Block. I think I'm still missing a few blocks, but honestly that's okay. Several ladies sent more than 1 block so there aren't that many I personally have to make.
I just love the look of orange peels and making them bright and scrappy worked out well. I am always concerned that scrappy quilts will not blend well together, but it always seems to work!
Sorry for the short post this week, I've been a bit preoccupied with the whole move! A couple reminders:
- Fall Into A QAL started this past Tuesday. Don't forget to make your block before the next one releases to be entered into the giveaway. Read all about it here.
- May Monthly Color Challenge window opens next week. If you haven't picked up this month's free block pattern, check out the post here.
I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend! Be sure to be following my Facebook page or Instagram to see all my photos from Market!!
Your turn! What did you accomplish this week? A block? A quilt top? Link up below!
A few reminders:
- When you link up a post, please try to support the others folks in the linky party! Let's spread the motivation and support to help everyone make progress in their own time.
- Your post does not need to be something quilty you accomplished, but definitely encouraged. Sometimes life just gets in the way, but feel free to share something you are proud of this week.
- In your blog post, please include a link back to my blog or grab the Friday Foto Fun Button and put it on your sidebar. This way others who visit your blog can also join in on the fun!

Congrats! If you’re moving to Kansas City, does that mean you’ll be really close to Quilting Is My Therapy and also Missouri Star??? Nice!
Congrats on the new position!! But so sorry you’re leaving the Twin Cities. After this last winter, well, need I say more! Haha!!! I’m really enjoying your quilt market photos on Insta.
Wishing you a smooth move. Congratulations on the new position. I was hoping to run into you during the MN Shop Hop but I guess you’ll be busy doing other exciting things, like packing and unpacking and checking out the new locale. May your new home bring you much happiness and have a quilt shop close by.
Congratulations on the new job, Sherry! I hope you enjoy Kansas City. I have happy memories of visiting my cousins who lived there and, more recently, my daughter’s friend who lives there. I’m enjoying your photos from Quilt Market!
Congratulations, Sherry, on the new job! Hope the house move goes smoothly.
