June Color Challenge Block! (Friday Foto Fun #34)
Today's Friday Foto Fun is super special since it's the first day of June, so it's a new color for the Monthly Color Challenge! This month's color is PURPLE! If you want more details on the challenge, read about it here.
Jen from Patterns by Jen designed a block that can be made in 6" and 12" finished. I opted to make all the blocks 12" to match the blocks I designed. You can get Jen's block pattern from her blog here.
The goal of the challenge is to have an entire block or project made from that month's color.
I am designing a sample block each month for this challenge. My block this month uses 3 different shades of purple and can be made scrappy, too! The block makes a great secondary design too. I love secondary designs, can you tell? At the end of the year, I'll give setting instructions for a 12 block and a 24 block quilt. There is a possibility of a 36 block quilt too!
If you use this block for an entire purple quilt, here's what it would look like! The blocks next to each other are rotated 90 degrees to create this killer secondary design!
Remember to be entered in the giveaway this month, you will need to post your block or project on Jen's blog during the last week of the month. No need to worry, I'll be posting a reminder to link up closer to that time. The winner this month will receive a fat quarter bundle of Art Gallery Fabrics!
Don't forget to check out the other bloggers who are participating in this challenge to check out their projects and blocks! I can't wait to see what they are up to as well!

I love the design you put together with your block. Stunning!
I love how your block sets up to look like it’s on point, but it’s not. As a longarm quilter, I’m not too fond of on point quilts–they tend to stretch on the bias while loaded. So, great block!!!
I like the design and the color.
Love your block!!! Thanks for being a part of the challenge!
I love that block you designed. The full quilt is amazing! 🙂
Great block – makes for a pretty quilt!
I love your block, Sherry, I am very partial to a secondary design! It will make a stunning quilt!
