My Favorite Quilts from Festival (Friday Foto Fun #58)
If you missed my Fall Quilt Market recap, I said I was going to share some of my favorite quilts that I saw at the exhibit! You can check out the list of winners here. Remember I took these photos during Quilt Market, so it was before the winners were announced.
I actually took photos of the Best in Show and the Founders Award quilts without knowing it! They are STUNNING in person. Can you tell what style of quilts I'm attracted to?
I find it interesting that most of the quilts have curves and are SUPER complicated! Both things I'm personally not a fan of sewing myself, but I sure can appreciate the beauty of these quilts!
The Best in Show and winner of the $12,500 prize was Eternal Beauty by Sherry Reynolds, and the Founders Award quilt and winner of $7500 was Over the Waves by Setsuko Matsushima!
I'm on vacation this next week for Thanksgiving and I'll be working on several quilts for Island Batik's Spring and Summer catalog for next year! My Barn Quilt BOM quilt will tentatively be a 6-month block of the month quilt that will kick off next August! Also if you are interested in applying to be an Island Batik Ambassador, applications for 2019 are currently open! Check out the application here.
Your turn! What did you accomplish this week? A block? A quilt top? Link up below!

- When you link up a post, please try to support the others folks in the linky party! Let's spread the motivation and support to help everyone make progress in their own time.
- Your post does not need to be something quilty you accomplished, but definitely encouraged. Sometimes life just gets in the way, but feel free to share something you are proud of this week.
- In your blog post, please include a link back to my blog or grab the Friday Foto Fun Button and put it on your sidebar. This way others who visit your blog can also join in on the fun!

You like curves for sure! I HATE curved piecing!
Thanks for the Island Batik Ambassador info. I’ve been interested in the program. From the application, I’m thinking I’m not ambitious or out there enough for them, but I think I might apply anyway.
Wow, I love “Over the Waves”!!! Those Japanese quilters are amazing.
Hi Sherry, I’m the same way. Attracted to colourful quilts with complex piecing that I would never make! Have a great holiday.
