#365DaysOfArtPBQChallenge Week 50, Exercises 344-350

Week 50 of the 365 Days Of Art Challenge!  Only two more weeks left in the year plus the last exercise!  I can't believe I'm almost done!  This week I didn't quite finish going back and coloring in some of my drawn exercises, but I think they look okay in just black and white.  Tell me what you think in the comments.  The link up at the bottom of the post will be open all year so be sure to check back to see what other fellow creatives have made with this week's exercises.  Read more about the challenge and catch up on all the previous weeks!

Without further ado, here are my 7 for this week… the good, bad, and ugly!

#344 Explore using charcoal and a rubber to draw an image.  Cover the page with charcoal and choose a subject.  Use the rubber to remove charcoal from the page.  Couple issues with this exercise... first I don't own charcoal anymore and second I used a pretty thin eraser (in my opinion) and still got fat lines when I erased the pencil. How they got the beautiful image on the left side of the page is beyond me.

#345 What are the people looking at?  Draw it. Maybe because it's winter now that I'm thinking about going to somewhere tropical and warm.  I decided to draw some palm trees and that reminded me of Hawaii and the Luau that we attended had a pig cooking on a spit.  I remember so many people going to take photos of this massive pig I decided to draw it over a campfire.

#346 What has inspired you this week? Tis the season of all sorts of beautiful Christmas Decorations... especially Christmas ornaments!  I am a part of the Ornament Girls Club and need to get caught up making all of the beautiful kits that I get each month!

#347 Using the calligraphy skills you have learned, write the name of someone close to you.  I decided to try out my brush markers again for calligraphy and I'm sad to report using my aquash brushes is still easier than the brush marker.  I still can't quite get the technique correct to get the letters to look correct.

#348 Draw under the waves. I decided to fill my underwater drawing with fish, kelp (or coral), and a single small octopus.  This actually turned out to be one of my favorite exercises this week and my fish are so cute!  Definitely much improved since the beginning of the book.

#349 Use charcoal and an eraser to draw a face.  What's with a second charcoal exercise this week?  I still didn't get charcoal so I decided just to practice drawing a face.  I think my face looks MUCH better than the faces I drew in the beginning of the book, but I could still definitely use some more practice in the future!

#350 Color in.  You can't tell too much from the photo, but I attempted to make each of the leaves like a peppermint where it alternated in color.  The page in real life looks much better than it does in the photograph.  Nothing too special about this exercise, but it was relaxing to end the week with some coloring!

Now that we've all had a good chuckle and/or grimace, I encourage you to join in the fun and expand your creative horizons too!
