My Best of 2018 and Quilting/Blog Recap!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! What better way to welcome 2019 than by taking a look back at 2018!

My final recap of 2018 by the numbers:

I didn't take a count of all the other non-quilty things. But the stack of quilts is what's left after the gifts!  If you want to see the quilts completed, visit my 2018 Completed Quilts page here.

My most proud quilt finish of 2018:

Last year my most proud finish was my Frame It Up quilt with Kate Spain fabrics and I had said I wanted to make a bed size quilt with Longitude Batiks by Kate Spain.  I actually finished the quilt and we use it every night!  I really love this pattern and that I get to snuggle under it every night.

My biggest lesson in 2018:

Don't delay on getting your own e-commerce solution!  With the last minute scramble of Craftsy shutting down a large majority of shops, it was an interesting time to figure out where to go next.  I'm glad I already had a shop started on Payhip as it just pushed me harder to get the integration to my own website.  If you haven't had a chance to do so yet, you can check out my shop right here at poweredbyquilting.com/shop! It's pretty neat that you can check out with Paypal directly from my website without going to the Payhip store.  It still gives you instant downloads from Payhip and it's all integrated.  I hope you guys like the new layout!  Don't forget the sale goes on until the end of TODAY!  Use coupon code NEWYEAR19 for 25% all patterns excluding Hidden Stars (already on sale) and the $1 block patterns.

My Best of 2018 Blog Posts:

Jelly Roll Rug Mania

Have you made one of these yet?  Because this is still hot hot hot!  I really recommend getting the batting on the roll to make them as it goes SO much faster.  I've made 2 so far, the original one out of Sunday Supper by Sweetwater Fabrics and the second that was in Christa Watson's Fall Market booth out of Abstract Garden.

Fall Into A QAL Blocks 3 and Block 6

This was the quilt along that I hosted and designed for.  I was the designer for Blocks 3 and 6 and they were my best performing posts out of the quilt along.  I'm super excited for the QAL we have planned in the new year.  The Bonfire and Pie blocks were mine!

2018 Monthly Color Challenge

The Monthly Color Challenge that I sewed along with Patterns by Jen and created my own sampler quilt was one of the top blog posts of the year too.

My Happy Place Row

Last but not least, the My Happy Place Row post rounds out my top 5.  This was my City Skyline row that I created from photographs of Minneapolis.  It was really nostalgic to remember my old home after the move to Kansas City.

This was a great year and I'm hoping to make 2019 even better!
