Hidden Stars Pattern Release and Sew Along!
Today is a special day where I get to announce my next pattern that is getting released, Hidden Stars! I am starting a Sew Along for this pattern starting January 8th!
Why am I starting a Sew Along?
- Well... this is the Hidden Stars quilt that is the cover of my pattern. Isn't this just the most beautiful mockup?!
Wait, what happened?
I designed this quilt back in June for Sarah Maxwell's Prettiful Posies fabric line (Designs by Sarah J and Fearless with Fabric). There were some issues getting me the fabric in time to get the sample completed before Fall Market. However, I got the pattern tested by some amazing testers and I even made the full quilt... in a fabric line for Island Batik's Spring/Summer 2019 catalog. So I'm without a cover at the moment of this pattern release! I do however finally have the fabric to make this quilt in Prettiful Posies and you'll be able to see the finished quilt in Sarah's QuiltCon booth this upcoming February!
What is the Sew Along (SAL) going to cover?
I will take you step-by-step on how to create the Hidden Stars pattern. I'll include all my tips and tricks to be the most efficient on completing the pattern regardless of the size you decide to make! I ask that all participants purchase the pattern on my Etsy, Craftsy, or Payhip shops, and then follow along and sew with me! You can pick the size of quilt you want to make. Hidden Stars comes in Baby, Throw, Twin, Full, Queen, and King sizes. (The pattern is also on sale until January 1st!)
How can I participate?
There are a couple ways in which you can participate in all the fun!
- If you are on Facebook: Join the Powered By Quilting Quilters Facebook group.
- If you are on Instagram: Use the hashtag #PBQHiddenStarsSAL on your progress photos.
How much fabric will I need to complete this quilt?
This is a fat eighth friendly pattern, but can be made with large scraps or color families! Please refer to the pattern for full fabric requirements.
What is the schedule?
The fun kicks off Tuesday, January 8, 2019. My tentative schedule is to post every other week and finish up the quilt by March 19, 2019.
Are there prizes?
Sarah gave me the fabric to create the quilt, but she gave me a Fat Quarter bundle. I only need a Fat Eighth, therefore whoever purchases my pattern (on any platform) and joins the sew along before January 1st will be entered to win a Prettiful Posies Fat Eighth bundle! Even if you don't win, you can pre-order a fat eighth bundle from Serendipity Woods! The fabric will be in stock early January just in time for this sew along! Just add your own background, backing, and binding!
As for other prizes, I'm still figuring that part out!

Then, gather your fabric you'll want to use on your quilt. The SAL starts January 8th, 2019! Finally, invite your friends to join in on the fun! Share the quilt-a-long graphic on Instagram and use #PBQHiddenStarsSAL Share this blog post or a post from the Facebook group on your own Facebook account and in your quilty groups. The more, the merrier!

I may buy the pattern and just follow your posts, because I don’t see time in January to start something new, but I’ll want to know everything! I think it would make a great patriotic quilt for American Heroes!
