  1. Wow! You have an amazing studio! Love it! Personally a messy room is a sign of a creative mind! Mine is always a mess – and full of dogs (all three of them want to be close to me when I sew!). I redid my storage a couple years ago using IKEA Billy bookcases and black and white cardboard boxes. I think I cornered the market on plastic boxes too! Recently I purged all my scraps and dark fabrics (not a dark person….) and gave them to some quilty pals. Then I went through those plastic boxes and found projects I had almost finished and handed them over to a long arm quilter…unbelievably to me I have finished off nine projects! Most of them were pattern tests for various designers – hard to believe I had so many!
You have a great space for a long arm machine! I am so envious. My space is only 8×10!!!
You haven’t finished you Cascade quilt from Quiltcon! Lol I liked your start! (I was ironing next to you!)

  2. Wow, what a transformation. Thanks for sharing. I am sure most of us can truly relate and you have been a great encouragement for all of us. I do think you could fit a long arm in there. Try laying out everything on graph paper. Your studio really looks great!

  3. So a long arm is in your future? I think you have had good reason for that lovely, creative mess, Sherry. Besides, it’s all cleaned up now and it looks great! Wish I had those design walls!

Thanks so much for sharing! I have things stuffed into every nook and cranny, stack things on top of other things, and clutter everywhere. Like you, I get anxious and overwhelmed at all the projects and ideas I’ve had but not enough hours in the day to make them all. I don’t know where the disconnect is!! But so many beautiful fabrics and darling quilts!!!

What great space, and doesn’t clean feel nice. I love the chaos of creativity but sometimes the shuffle dance just to do something is ridiculous. A long arm, yes, but you might loose some design space or pressing space. You can do the smaller frame like I am but I would store higher up the walls and get that center space back for the longarm!! You have a lot of sewing in your future.

You have a great working space! I saw your Sew Let’s Quilt blocks up on your design wall. And speaking of design walls, wow! Great idea to use a memory type floor mat in the sewing area!! Gotta save the feet.

Sherry – you are SEW BRAVE!!! Thank you for showing us your space! To be honest, I think my space is worse … but I wasn’t brave enough to join in the blog hop! You are an inspiration for me to start tackling my area! Thank you!
