Project Quilting 10.1 – Hope Springs Eternal (Friday Foto Fun #66)
Happy Friday!!! This is week 1 of the Project Quilting Season 10 challenge and I've decided to play along! You can read about the project here. The theme for this week is "Hope Springs Eternal."
I looked up the quote and subsequent meaning of the proverb and pretty much came up with the conclusion that it really just means that people will keep hoping, no matter the odds.
One of the examples I read of this was I keep buying lottery tickets - hope springs eternal. *Ding! Lottery tickets! I decided to make some Powerball Numbers! Because why the heck not? I would love to win the Powerball someday like everyone else!
Here are my Powerball Numbers. I used Island Batik fabrics and appliqued my numbers and balls to the background. The quilt finished at approximately 4.5"x18" and it's my first finish of 2019!
How did I come up with these numbers? Well... I went and looked up the winning lottery numbers from the day I got married because in a sense I hit the lottery for marrying my husband. Ta Da! Look at all that meaning in my ridiculous Powerball Quilt!
Are you joining the challenge? There are some awesome prizes for 10.1 and even a prize for everyone who enters!
Voting starts this Sunday at 12pm Central! Make sure to go vote for your favorites (and I vote for me while you're at it)!

Your turn! What did you accomplish this week? A block? A quilt top? Link up below!

your powerball numbers are so cute! haha
I love how you chose your numbers! Absolutely perfect!
That’s a great interpretation of hope springs eternal. I especially love how you chose your numbers to tie it all together.
What a fun mini and I like how you chose the numbers for your custom Powerball mini quilt!
Love that you used the lottery numbers from your wedding day!!!!! Super cute!
I was thinking they were birth years of family. My mother and I often played the same number, in Pennsylavania and Massachusetts. It was the number of everyone’s birthday in the family -3, 4, 11, 19, 25, 28 – one of us shared a date. I may have to go play that again and see what happens! Hope you win big some day with them. Meanwhile, what a great idea for a hope quilt.
perfect choice for your powerball numbers! Love this little quilt and so happy you joined in the PQ Fun 😉
