Sneak Peeks! (Friday Foto Fun #88)

It's a slow share Friday for me since I've been getting lots of projects added to my list, but there is nothing I can reveal quite yet.  However, I can share some sneak peeks at some upcoming projects and inspiration!  This is also about the time the overwhelming feeling starts to settle in that I may have signed myself up for WAY too many things.  That never happens, right?

Let's kick off the sneak peeks with the new Fat Quarter Shop Pineapple Day quilt along!

I am quilting along and the pineapple papers are pretty awesome!  It's slightly thicker than newsprint so it doesn't shred and thinner than printer paper so it's easier to remove after stitching!

A couple of key tips, if you decide to sew along:

  • For the larger pineapple paper, use double sided tape to help secure the fabric to the paper to prevent slipping
  • Also for the larger pineapple paper, pieces 2-5 were the hardest.  Make sure they don't fold on itself and that the piece doesn't shift while sewing!
  • For the smaller pineapple fabric pieces, you do not need to cut everything down to 2"x4".  As long as the piece is at least that size, you will be okay!  For example, cutting from a jelly roll strip, you'll get 2.5"x4".  You don't need to cut it down to 2"x4", just leave it at 2.5"x4".  This will help save time cutting all the fabric!

To participate, you'll need the following supplies:

I am also preparing to make a quilt out of Geo Pop by Christa Watson!  This is her 4th fabric line and will be released this Fall.  The quilt that I'm making will be a part of Modern By the Yard later this year.  Isn't this fabric just yummy?!

But wait... there's more!  I also got the fabric for Highway Traffic! This is Sarah Maxwell's newest fabric line Peaceful Petals in stores now!  I love this great set of neutrals, and I can't wait to finish the quilt for my paper cover!

Last but not least, I'm working on an exclusive pattern for the subscribers of the International Association of Quilters!  I am the guest designer in August and the pattern will be available to subscribers then.  As a subscriber, you get access to all the patterns from 2015 all the way to the current year available!  I'll post more about this awesome group in the future!

Well, I better get sewing!  If you are planning on being at the KC Region Quilt Festival tomorrow, let me know!  It's longarm purchasing day (hopefully)!  What are you planning on getting done this weekend?
