Barn Quilt BOM Month 2!
This month we are making the center parts of one of the main blocks 16 times to make 4 mini quilts for the full quilt. (or 4 times to make 1 mini quilt!) We are utilizing all of the pretty blues and one of the purples. My quilt is made with Kaleidoscope by Island Batik!

Here are my Top Tips:
- Be sure to check out my blog post on Learn to Make Hourglass Blocks Like a Pro.
- Make sure you are pairing the half square triangles correctly to make the correct hourglass blocks in the end! I use the Clearly Slotted Trimmers to trim my hourglass blocks.
- For the no-waste flying geese, I use the Studio 180 Wing Clipper tool to trim my flying geese to size. I use Grippy by Odif to make the ruler non-slip for more accurate sewing.
- Make either 4 or 16 of the centers for the mini quilt or full quilt! Keep in mind that they should be identical.
- Sew the units together according to the instructions and keep repeating until you make 1 mini quilt or 4 mini quilts!

Quilt Along Schedule:
- August: We have started!!! YAY! Time to gather all the supplies and prep work for the quilt along. The newsletter will have coloring sheets for the full quilt and mini quilt options!
- September: Month 1 blocks.
- October: Month 2 blocks and Mini Quilt #1 assembly. <- WE ARE HERE!!!
- November: Month 3 blocks.
- December: Month 4 blocks and Mini Quilt #2 assembly.
- January: Month 5 blocks/Mini Quilt #3 assembly.
- February: Month 6 blocks and Quilt Top Assembly
- March: Show off your amazing work!
This month's live video in the Powered By Quilting Quilters Facebook Group will be announced in the Facebook group next week. I still do not have any of my belongings and I'm not sure which weekend I'll be ready to do the live stream!
