MQG firsts for me!! (Friday Foto Fun #104)
This was a fun week as I went to my very first guild meeting! I've been an individual member of the Modern Quilt Guild for several years, but I had never made it to any guild meeting. In Minneapolis and Kansas City, the guild meetings were across town from where I lived and ended later than I would have liked to get home. In Albuquerque, the Modern Quilt Guild meets close to my work so I'm able to attend! Do you love your guild? What's one thing that you look forward to in your guild?
The other fun part of this week is that I submitted my Ink and Indigo quilt to Quilt Con. I'm hoping that it gets selected, but we'll see. There are so many quilts that get entered every year, I read numbers between 1500-1800, with only about 350 quilts getting accepted. Don't remember Ink & Indigo? Here it is again.
This was the first quilt that I ever designed and I used the 2017 Quiltcon class with Elizabeth Hartman to do the math on this quilt!
Do you submit your quilts to shows? Which shows do you love the most?'
Also in case you missed it, the Modern Quilt Guild has a special offer right now! If you join prior to 12/31 for $30/year, you get a free 4-day show pass to Quilt Con in Austin in February!

Your quilt is amazing, Sherry! I hope it’s accepted for Quilt Con.
I joined my local Modern Quilt Guild lat year and I think it is the best decision of my quilting life. I look forward to the programming as well as the show and tell and the generally fun group of quilters.
Good luck. It’s a great quilt.
Sherry that quilt is beautiful. I love the movement. If it was up to me it would definitely be going to QuiltCon.
Fun that you got to a meeting. Good luck with your entry to QuiltCon. I will be there…hope to connect again this year!
I’m hoping to start going to the Modern Quilt Guild meetings here in January. I haven’t been to a meeting before. Good luck with your QuiltCon entry! I won’t be in Austin but I’m planning on Atlanta in 2021!
