3D Challenge!
This is the last challenge in the 2019 Island Batik Ambassador program! This month's challenge is a 3D Challenge, and I've been on an ornament kick lately so I decided to make an ornament with Island Batik fabric.
The fabrics showcased in this post were given to me as a part of the Island Batik Ambassador program. I picked out sprinkles, periwinkle basics, and a dark purple from Electric Desert. I used a 3" soft foam ball, LOTS of dressmaker pins, and some gold ribbon. The tools needed include a flexible tape measure, a pen, and some small fabric scissors.
I decided to make the Bloom pattern from Ornament Girl. This is the first time I made this pattern and I love how it turned out!
Isn't it beautiful?! Batik fabrics make such beautiful ornaments but make sure your pins are sharp! Batik fabric is woven tighter, therefore, pins that aren't very sharp will not puncture the fabric as easily! This was such a great addition to our Christmas tree this year!
This is also my very last post as an Island Batik Ambassador. It's been a great 2 years as an ambassador, but I will continue as an Island Batik Signature Designer next year! I am sad to not get a big box of goodies from Island Batik and their amazing industry partners, but I'm equally excited for the signature collection coming out this spring/summer!
Be sure to follow the Island Batik Facebook page to see what the other ambassadors are making! I'll be following along, too!
Happy Holidays everyone!

Awww Sherry! I’ll miss you in the ambassadors next year. Your ornament is beautiful! Good luck with your future endeavors.
This is a lovely ornament! I’m sorry to hear that you won’t be an ambassador next year. Thank you so much for encouraging me when I was considering applying last year! I saw your name on one of the signature collections and am excited for you! Merry Christmas!
Wonderful ornament! Can’t wait to see what this year brings for you & your quilting!
