It's official. I LOVE bag days and I'm so excited for the next one in February. I made 2 Santorini Totes this past Saturday on my Twitch channel! Each tote took me about 3 hours to make from start to finish. I had fabric picked out and zippers close by, but I cut and assembled everything from start to finish.
The first tote that I made was a regular-sized tote in the Daydream fabric by Kate Spain. Isn't this just beautiful?!
I used gray zipper tape with nickel zipper pulls from Sallie Tomato. The bag has an inset zipper on the exterior AND interior of the bag. The method shown in the pattern is SO EASY! I love it and I had never done one before! The interior fabric is a Paperie print from Amy Sinibaldi.
After I finished this regular sized one, I wasn't sure if my surface laptop would fit in the bag. But since I was streaming on said laptop, I couldn't just test to see if it'd fit! I decided to make another Santorini Tote but in the large size.
So I picked out 3 different options when I posted on Friday, but I decided to throw the other 2 options out and picked one of my custom Mickey fabrics that I've purchased through the years! I have a bunch of custom Mickey fabric that I buy because it's cute and I think "I'll make a bag someday with it..." Well, Saturday was that day!
Isn't this just darling?! I used a white zipper tape with a gold zipper pull from Sallie Tomato. I love her zippers since they LOOK metal but they are actually plastic so they are really easy to sew with! This large size is about an inch or two wider in every dimension compared to the regular-sized tote.
I think I need to take a trip to Disney with my brand new tote! I also tried to take a photo to show the difference in size but didn't have a ton of luck...
You can't tell the minor difference in the photo above either. So you'll have to trust that it is bigger. The smaller one actually fits completely inside the larger one!
Anyway, I hope you can sew with me on the bag days this year! Would you be interested in the bags that I've picked for the year or a calendar so you can plan? Let me know!
