Happy Friday! I'm still adjusting to the new job and new location. It's honestly been hard to carve out some weekday sewing so I'm excited to at least be sewing this weekend! I've even more excited to be using part of my stash of Layer Cakes! Layer Cakes are also known as 10" stackers and are usually a collection precut meaning that it'll have at least one 10" square of each SKU in the collection.
I picked out 2 different layer cakes to sew. Both of these come from my Kate Spain collection and they have some big prints, Grand Canal and Aria. The quilt that I designed for tomorrow's stream is an EASY pattern and very beginner-friendly. You'll need 1 layer cake and 1.75 yards of a background contrasting fabric. The finished quilt size will 66.5" by 76" so a really big lap quilt! I'm not sure how long this quilt top will take me, but I'm guessing less than 6 hours from start to finish.
I hope you'll join in the stream tomorrow starting at 8 am on my Twitch channel. If you miss it live, you'll be able to watch the video for up to 2 weeks after the stream on my channel as well.
