Wholecloth Quilting (Friday Foto Fun #143)
This month's Aurifil Artisan Challenge is to create a wholecloth quilt. I did a similar challenge last year as an Artisan, see my project here. Windham sponsored this challenge and provided Artisan Cottons for us to use in our quilts!
I used the Artisan Cotton in Orchid (40171-21) and Dusty Lavender #1243 forty3 thread to create my table runner. I used some premade designs that came on my Prostitcher and arranged the layouts of 10 different designs! I think I did a pretty good job of getting the designs to blend together so you can't tell where each design starts and stops!
I really love how this turned out. My Amara is picky about thread, but the forty3 worked beautifully with zero thread breaks!
Forty3 weight thread is a 3ply thread made specifically to handle the rigor of today’s high-speed, high-tech Longarm machines. It currently comes in 50 different colors! You can spot the spools by the distinct yellow spool.
The thread stitches so beautifully! I really love using Aurifil for my domestic machine and now I can't wait to quilt on my longarm with more forty3!
This weekend I'll be doing a short stream on Saturday to finish my modern quilt that I started a few weeks ago and I'm going to be staring on a BUNCH of secret sewing for next year's collection of patterns!
What are your weekend sewing plans?

Beautiful quilt, Sherry! I’ve always loved the elegance of whole cloth quilts but I have never attempted one.
Whole cloth quilts are so pretty, and yours is fantastic in those colors. I’ve never made a whole cloth, either, but I may have to try a small one.
Beautiful! I love this table runner!!
Hi Sherry, your runner looks amazing.
This came out beautiful! I have only used edge to edge on my Amara and need to play with multi piecing designs like you did here. So pretty!
Perfection.
