So last week, I mentioned that not all triangles are the same for the Spirited quilt that I was making. I was so excited about the quilt that I already finished it! I was able to get the top finished and quilted last weekend but I put the binding on during the week.
I LOVE how this quilt turned out! I decided to longarm the quilt with diagonal plaid to accent the on-point squares and I debated about the thread color for a long time. I realized that if I loaded the quilt sideways, I could just change the color thread as I was going! I picked out 4 different colors and stitched approximately 3 rows of each color.
The transition of color happened to be over the cameos and you can see how there is a subtle difference in thread color, but it blends across the quilt! Here's another shot of the quilt folded to see all 4 thread colors on top of each other.
The quilt was super fast to put together once I got the correct triangle ruler, and it looks awesome with this fabric line!

- Fabric: De La Luna by Tula Pink
- Thread: Aurifil 2024 50wt for piecing, and So Fine 50wt for longarming
- Batting: Warm and Plush by Warm Company
- Finished Size: 68"x68"
- Quilting Design: Diagonal Plaid, quilted by me! I can quilt your quilts, too!
Also, tomorrow is BAG DAY!!! I'm super excited to be making the Delphinium Hobo bag by Blue Calla Patterns. I am using some custom Harry Potter fabric as the main print to show off my Slytherin pride. I hope you'll come hangout, chat, and maybe even sew along! I go live at 8am Mountain time with only the paper templates printed, so I'll be doing everything else live.
