I have a mountain of unfinished quilt projects in all sorts of different states. However, it's very rare that I start making a bag and then just stop or pause. The bag projects typically are done one at a time. Several months ago, I started making an Amara tote with some beautiful canvas fabric but put it down when I needed to cut foam for the interfacing. I'm proud to say that I finally finished it last Saturday on stream!
It was a little difficult to remember where I left off from the pieces I had already cut and what else I needed to do. For example, I didn't have the lining picked out and I used 1 yard of this beautiful green for the lining that is from the same collection of fabric as the exterior.
I forgot that the lining needed more than a yard, so I needed to piece the side panels of the lining and opted to not have the side pockets on the interior because I didn't have enough fabric. Whoops! I guess it also matches the fact that the bottom of the bag needed the cork to be pieced together. I remember when I started the bag, I didn't do the math correctly and didn't quite have enough cork in this blue to cut all the pieces. Unfortunately for me, the blue was discontinued and I had to make do and piece together the base.
The bag overall turned out great and the tote is pretty big!
