Destination: Quilt Along Block 8!

This block uses prairie points, a new-to-me technique! The grunge gives the block even more depth than straight solids!
Here are my top tips:
I used the Stripology ruler to create my 2" squares for the prairie points really quickly! I love the Stripology ruler to cut squares super fast. Unfortunately, the green for the trees blends in with my cutting mat!
To make the prairie points, I ironed everything in half first, then came back to iron the second fold. I found this faster than making each one individually.
Instead of pinning or clipping the prairie points, I decided to sew baste the points with a 1/8" seam. Remember that the center of the points align with the measurements!
For the water, use a small gentle wave cut.
Trim the blocks to 12.5" square. The thickness of the points with the thin strips caused my block to skew but thankfully it's oversized to be trimmed!
Ta Da! All finished!
