Month 9 of the Lucky Stars Quilt Along! We are at the last month!!! If you have fallen behind, take this month to catch up because we will be doing the assembly next month! I can't wait to see your take on this skill-building pattern! If you don't have a copy of the pattern yet, you can grab a copy from my Etsy shop or Payhip!
This month we are making a total of 4 of the 9.5" blocks using 4 different fabrics and the background.
There are 2 areas of mastery for making these blocks:
- Modified Hourglass blocks
- We'll also be working with bias edges this month, similar to the last two months. If you had issues, this is a time to reinforce those skills.
- I use Clearly Slotted Trimmers to trim the modified hourglasses before pressing them open.
- HSTs
- These are repeats from previous months and you'll get better and better the more you make them!
I'll be doing a demo for these blocks and answering any questions THIS SUNDAY (September 12th) in my Facebook group at 9am Mountain with my scrappy fabrics. Before October's live stream, you will need to have all of the Sections A through G sewn together. I'll be sewing the final seams together on a Facebook Live stream PRIOR to next month's blog post showing the full top reveal.
