Lucky Stars QAL Month 2!
Month 2 of the Lucky Stars Quilt Along! This quilt along lasts until September and each month's post will be the first Tuesday of each month! I can't wait to see your take on this skill-building pattern! If you don't have a copy of the pattern yet, you can grab a copy from my Etsy shop or Payhip!
This month we are making a total of 6 blocks, 2 of the 18.5" blocks and 4 of the 6.5" blocks using 3 different fabrics and the background.
There are 3 areas for mastery for making these blocks.
- Sew a consistent 1/4" seam.
- For newer quilters, this is probably the most important skill to master. Make sure you are checking your seams if you are uncertain.
- Accurate cutting
- This was something that wasn't addressed in Month 1, but accurately cutting each of the blocks is super important to get the correct sized blocks at the end! Measure twice, cut once!
- Flying Geese
- These are used with stitch and flip corners. Accurately sewing on your diagonal to get a good stitch and flip corner is critical to get perfect flying geese!
I'll be doing a demo for these blocks and answering any questions THIS SUNDAY in my Facebook group at 9am Mountain with my scrappy fabrics. If you can't watch me live, the video will be saved in my group for those wanting to watch it later. If you don't have a copy of the pattern yet, you can grab a copy from my Etsy shop or Payhip!

Pretty blocks, great colors. I love flying geese, though I make them a different way. I don’t think that matters at all. =)
