North Stars Blocks Complete!

I did it!  I made all 9 blocks in the North Stars quilt by Elizabeth Hartman.  It only took me 9 months to do it by sewing one block a month, but these blocks are complete!

The quilt top is going to be SUPER cute but it was such a PAIN to sew.  I'm so happy that streaming on Twitch on the 4th Saturday of each month since February has been my accountability to complete the blocks.

I will never ever use Essex Linen again without soaking it in starch! The Essex Linen is so loosely woven and stretchy, it's awful to work with and I absolutely hate it. But look how cute these blocks are!  I need to sew the quilt top together, but I'm going to modify her instructions.  I am planning on adding sashing, but since some of my blocks are slightly different sizes, using cornerstones will help ensure that the blocks line up properly.  Her instructions have you sew background between the rows with no cornerstones and I'm afraid my blocks won't align well.

I was planning on streaming the quilt top assembly, but it'll depend on when I can schedule movers since we have a pending offer on our home!  YAY!  This means that we'll have a modified stream schedule later this year, but I'm going to try not to miss too many Saturday streams.

What quilt did you hate sewing, but love the finished product?
