First look at my new sewing spaces!

When I mean first look, I mean I have windows!!! and a semi-framed room!  For those that don't know, we are in the process of building our forever home and I've claimed 2 separate spaces, one for my sewing studio and one for my longarm!

This is going to be my new sewing space!  I love the fact that I have large windows for some natural light.  I am looking for new storage solutions for my fabric and hardware stashes.  I'm thinking to get a HAVSTA storage combination as shown below from IKEA.  I like that there are doors on the cabinets to help keep the dust off my collection.

The other option is to have more of a bookshelf with open shelving similar to this LIATORP storage combination from IKEA. The center of this solution also has cabinets so there is a little bit of dust protection.

The second space I have is a bedroom that will be home to my longarm machine.  I haven't decided if the storage unit will be in the sewing studio or in my longarm room to maximize storage space.  The longarm is going to be against the window side of the room and be positioned as far away from the closet entrance as I can get!

We are approximately 100 days away from being able to move in and unpack all of our things!  I'm hoping to open up my longarm quilting services late May or early June!

How do you store your fabric stash? What would you do if you had a blank slate?
