Wave Pool BOM Month 2 (Friday Foto Fun #224)
Happy last Friday in the AirBnB!!! Today, we are on Month 2 of the Wave Pool Block of the Month! As a reminder, we will be posting tips and tricks the second Friday of each month and going LIVE on YouTube the next day (Saturday) at 1:30pm Central for the block demo and to answer any questions. If you haven't gotten the pattern yet, you can pick it up from my Etsy or Payhip shop. It's not too late to order the kit and sew along. Month 2 is tricky, but you can easily catch up!
We are using 2 different fabrics this month with some background.
Tips and Tricks:
- When you are cutting on a diagonal, be super careful that the diagonal does not shift during cutting.
- For the squares that have 2 diagonal cuts, don't move the pieces in the middle of the two cuts. Rotate the cutting mat instead.
- I added sizing for your blocks as you add the layers to help, but I made a rounding mistake on Layer 2. The correct size is just shy of 6-7/8" instead of 7". If you got the pattern on Payhip, you should have received an updated download link and this has been listed on my pattern corrections page. If you don't normally measure your blocks as you go, you wouldn't know any different.
- Use a design board to lay out the block in the correct orientation prior to sewing it together.
- Chain piece all the blocks so you are making all 16 at once. It goes much faster this way!
