Long Time Gone BOM WIP

This past weekend I got the bug to work on some really OLD work-in-progress (WIP) projects.  The Long Time Gone BOM is a pattern by Jen Kingwell and the block of the month was run by my friend and shop owner Pam Selkirk of Serendipity Woods. I finished Month 7 of 13ish months.

These little churn dashes are 3" finished so the pieces that we are working with are TINY.  The quilt itself is super scrappy and something that I'm not the best at which is why I signed up for the BOM to begin with since all the scrappy fabric would be included as well as guidance on scrappy placement. Any guesses on when the BOM originally ran?

Month 7 was January of 2018... so 4.5 years later, I finally finished the month's blocks.  I actually had 6 churn dashes made already so I only had to make 15 this weekend. I'm questioning my life choices honestly on if I want to finish this quilt.  Months 8-13 look equally time-consuming, but I'm already about half-way done! Here are all my blocks so far.

When I look at all the blocks together, I feel as if I should definitely finish the quilt top because it just looks so cool!  Maybe if I work on little bits each month I'll eventually get it done over the next few years.  I'm looking at month 13 with the pineapple blocks and wow, those look time-consuming!  Really the entire quilt is made up of TINY piecing.  Granted, I love bigger blocks so this may just be "small" for some others.

What do you think, is it worth continuing and finally finishing the quilt? Do you have a project that you are dragging your feet to finish?
