H2O 2Go Sling!

This last Saturday I made an H2O 2Go Sling by Linds Handmade, with some hacks meaning I didn't follow the pattern 100%.

The original pattern has a curved zipper pocket and credit card slots in the pocket as well as an oval bottom.  My bag has a standard straight zipper pocket and a slip pocket on the exterior of the bag. The bottom of the bag is a boxed bottom similar to a zipper pouch with a gusseted bottom.

The interior is a grey waterproof canvas with no pockets as it's to hold a water bottle.

So what did I think? The bag with the hacks is SO MUCH less intimidating than the original pattern and the sling only took me 2.5 hours to make from start to finish (including all the time trying to figure out how to make the bag with the hacks without having made the original pattern first).  I do think I would change some of my interfacing choices though.  I used the GeekyFuse Cotton Soft interfacing for all of the Woven parts (exterior, pockets, etc).  I think I would only have the exterior pieces that are the shape of the sling in GeekyFuse Cotton Soft interfacing and change the zipper pocket/slip pocket to be SF101.  Shapeflex (SF101) is softer interfacing and not nearly as stiff.  I think it'd help the sling not feel too bulky on the exterior front area.

• Webbing: I don't actually remember! yikes!

What do you think about a water bottle sling? To be honest I never thought I'd use one, until I carried so much water in my backpack last time at Disney.  I figure a water bottle sling would be useful!
