Busy Busy Busy (Friday Foto Fun #2)
I can't believe it's already Friday! I didn't have much time at all this week to sit down at my machine and sew. Have you ever gotten to the point when you are so busy, you end up not doing anything at all because you are in a type of analysis paralysis? I'm at that point and may be even further down that path! However, I do have a Friday share this week. I was able to force myself to sit down for about a few minutes to sew 2 of the 6 Month 3 blocks in the Long Time Gone BOM with Serendipity Woods.
YAY! They are each only 4.5" squares, but hey progress is progress! I'm celebrating that as a huge win for me with the limited amount of time I had to quilt this week!
The additional effect of analysis paralysis is that my headspace gets all cloudy and doubtful of my own abilities, and my creativity takes a nose dive. But I'm a woman with a plan, at least about the creativity portion.
I saw on Instagram that Lorna Scobie published a new book called "365 Days of Art" It's not about quilting, but definitely an art book to help jump-start some creativity. Lorna has some previews of her book on her Instagram feed. I am planning on doing the entire book from cover to cover, all 365 exercises. Does anyone want to join me? I'm still working out how I'm going to work through the challenges and when to start. More details later this month.
Purchase the book here (Amazon affiliate link) to join me in a creativity journey! Just as a note, outside of the Amazon affiliate link (which I think would get me 3% of the sale price), I'm not getting paid to advertise this book. I saw it on Instagram and thought it would definitely help me jump-start my creativity. They say creativity is a muscle, you just need to work it!
In case you missed it on Tuesday, my newest pattern, Flying Windmills, was released! I brought the quilt with me on my business trip. I've learned that bringing a quilt with me helps lessen the homesick feeling.
Here are my goals for this coming week!
Available time for quilting:
Saturday, Sunday, Wednesday PM
Projects I want to work on:
PBQ105
PBQ106
Goals for the Projects:

A few reminders:
- When you link up a post, please try to support the others in the linky party! Let's spread the motivation and support to help everyone make progress in their own time.
- Your post does not need to be something quilty you accomplished, but definitely encouraged. Sometimes life just gets in the way, but feel free to share something you are proud of this week.
- In your blog post, please include a link back to my blog or grab the Friday Foto Fun Button (on my left sidebar) and put it on your sidebar. This way others who visit your blog can also join in on the fun!

My WHOLE week has been like that too! I’ve gotten no sewing in at all, but did get one college student moved from one dorm room to another. I’m calling that a success and hoping today garners a bit of sewing follow through I’m been planning. Happy Friday, Sherry!
Happy Weekend Pam! Hopefully you get what you need done… I can’t wait to hear all about Market. I sadly was not able to make it this fall… but Portland, I’m so there!
It’s been a bit slow in the quilting mojo here too, but it’s coming around. I just ordered the book — should be fun! Enjoy your weekend!
The book is awesome! I am totally aware it’ll be good, bad, and ugly all in one! But it’s definitely growth opportunity!
Look forward to hearing a little bit more about the plan. It feels like a huge commitment and I really have to decide what to focus on next year for my blog. I’ll look for a little more info before deciding whether to jump on the bandwagon. Are the affiliate links worth it? Helpful?
I’m terrified of that same thing (for being a huge time commitment)! However, I think I’ll set it up in a weekly format, so each person can choose to do one a week or all 7 a week… then leave the link ups open forever for people to link up correctly.
As for the affiliate links, I don’t make hardly any money, but I wanted to start monetizing my blog. It’s not that much extra work to add them in. I’m just trying to figure out how to balance the number of ads. Hopefully it’s not too bad or bothersome.
Wow I can so relate! Busy, busy, busy! Lovely blocks!
Thanks Jennifer! <3 One of these days I'll catch up right? ;)
What a great idea to bring something from home with you. And a quilt is the coziest!
