#365DaysOfArtPBQChallenge Week 3, Exercises 15-21

Welcome to the Week 3 wrap up of the 365 Days Of Art Challenge!  If you haven't started yet, no worries!  The link up at the bottom of the post will be open all year so be sure to check back to see what other fellow creatives have made with this week's exercises.  Read more about the challenge here.

Without further ado, here are my 7 for this week… the good, bad, and ugly!

#15 Find a pattern that inspires you.  Mandalas are my favorite designs.  They are just so amazing! I didn't have a print out of one that I could stick in my book, so I opted to sketch one out.  I am not the best at drawing these, but maybe one day.

#16 Begin to learn calligraphy.  Oh Em Gee. I've always wanted to learn how to hand letter, and it's WAY harder than it looks.  I used some brush markers and watercolor.  The brush marker is way easier, but I'm so enamored to learn how to hand letter with watercolor.  Who's a hand letterer out there, can you offer tips?

#17 Fill the page with loops.  This was fun and a little mindless, but it was a way to work with different media.  Markers, colored pencils, crayons, and a normal pencil were used to make loops.  I actually attempted to switch up the directions of my loops and failed miserably.  Look at the red marker loops in the middle of the page.

#18 Color the fish.  Can anyone guess what the top fish is supposed to be?  A rainbow trout!!! Get it?  It's a rainbow!!  I also learned I should not have colored in the bottom fish blue.  It's camouflaging with the blue background of the page.  Colored pencils for this entire page.

#19 Design a wallpaper behind the chair. I think I like the concept of the zigzag lines in columns, but I will need to do some thinking on how to make this into a quilt pattern.  I was attempting to emulate some of the columns I've seen on wallpaper in the past.  Quilting inspiration definitely can come from anywhere and any design.  Brush marker used for this exercise.

#20 Design your own fairy or twinkle lights.  What the heck are these twinkle lights? The book gave us some examples, but they look like colored splotches.  I emulated the splotches with crayons.  Crayons were injured (aka broken) in this exercise… like 4 of them. I realized one of my quirks is to finish some of these exercises in an efficient manner, I blame my engineering background.  I ended up turning the book upside down because it was more comfortable to make my splotches.  It's made me wonder about some of my quilting quirks…. What quirks do you have?

#21 What is your favorite simple thing to eat? Mine is a pear.  I drew the pear and bubble lettered PEAR.  This week ended on an easy one!

Now that we've all had a good chuckle, I encourage you to join in the fun and expand your creative horizons too!

It looks like Amazon is getting the book back in stock soon, yay!  It's been out of stock for a while now.
