Quilt top or Mock up? (Friday Foto Fun #19)
So last week, I talked about only using your Camera to mock up a quilt (read about that here). I have a confession to make… I really love PhotoGrid. To be clear I am not affiliated with PhotoGrid whatsoever, I just really heart any sort of collage maker app. Look at this really cool quilt!
Spoiler alert! It's not a quilt! It's actually my houndstooth block repeated 16 times!
Look at these cool quilts!
Just kidding, these aren't quilts either. Both of those mock ups are the same Checker block!
Both of these blocks were made for my beehives this month! The trick is to make sure you take a head-on photo with the block and crop the photo into the square with no extra border! Repeating the block in the photo collage app, you can make some really cool mocked up quilts!
I didn't get much of anything else done this week due to all the secret sewing going on with my awesome Island Batik fabrics! If you missed my first project, check out my LOVE rugs here. I did want to share a little sneak peak to my next project!
Any guess on what this will turn out to be? Find out on Tuesday!
Next week I am headed off to QuiltCon in Pasadena, CA. I will try to post photos from the show on my Instagram and Facebook page! If you are also going to be there, let me know! We should meet up!
My available time for quilting this upcoming week:
Saturday, Sunday, Monday PM, Tuesday PM
Projects I want to work on:
PBQ107
Island Batik Ambassador Projects
Goals for the Projects:
PBQ107: Yup, I already have a design picked out… just need to test my concept before I make my sample!
Island Batik Ambassador Projects: Secret Sewing for projects!
Hope you have a productive week!

I’ll have to check out that app, really fun to see the blocks multiplied. Have a great time at QuiltCon!
love those colorful Flying Geese units you are making
Thanks so much for showing us this creative app Sherry! Certainly is an easy way to test layouts before committing to the whole quilt. And thanks for the linky party – added your link up button to my sidebar
I can’t wait to get a chance to use PhotoGrid. The next time I’m laying out something delicate, I think! I could audition the layout with the app instead of moving the blocks around too much and stretching them. I can’t wait to meet up with you at QuiltCon! I’m having such a wardrobe dilemma, though.
I do love how all tese photo apps make things so much easier… I am a bit behind this week, hoping to catchup Saturday and Sunday.
Fun app! Looks like the real thing/quilt! Have fun at Quilt Con!!!
Thank you for sharing the app! I cant wait to try it out!
