May Color Challenge Revisited (Friday Foto Fun #33)
Happy Memorial Day Weekend and a special edition of Friday Foto Fun!!! This is one of my favorite weekends of the year because it signals the start of summer! Today also marks the day that the new privacy laws in the EU take place. Please note that I have updated the privacy policy for my website, so be sure to check that out. There is a link in my footer and under the about section of my menu.
May is almost over which means you only have a few days to get your blocks in for prizes!!! I am reminding you that the May Color Challenge link up is OPEN!!! YAY!!! Make sure to head over to Patterns By Jen's blog to link up. If you missed the kickoff of the challenge, you still have time to make something GREEN and enter! Read about the May Challenge here.
This is my 3rd green block using Jen of Dizzy Quilter's Circle Play block this week! Like previous months, I used my quarter circle templates to make my paper piecing templates to make this wonderful block! Check out my January post that walks through the process for the circle. This month the idea was to have a paper pieced log cabin of the quarter circle. I got all of my green scrap strips out to make my blocks in a pile.
I didn't do much planning on each of the quadrants, I just started sewing. If you need some paper piecing help, check out my tutorial. I love using my little finger presser tool when I paper piece so I don't need to go to the iron every minute.
Remember to always use your templates to trim the pieces! For straight edges, measure ¼" from the seam line instead of the drawn line.
My blocks are oversized due to my templates, so I always trim down to the 12.5" square.
Here are the 3 GREEN block for this month. I realized my other two blocks ended up being more yellow-green than green, whoops.

Don't forget the link up is open until May 31 on Patterns by Jen's blog to win this month's prize! The winner this month will receive a fat eighth bundle of Mountain's Majesty from Island Batik!
Don't forget to check out the other bloggers who are participating in this challenge to check out their projects and blocks! I can't wait to see what they are up to as well!
