Home Stretch!!! (Friday Foto Fun #35)
We are finally getting our house put on the market! Hopefully, it sells quickly and takes that stress off our shoulders! It's been one heck of a journey getting to this point. One of the things I did need to do to help get the house ready was to clear out the clutter in my sewing room! Here's what it looks like today.
Doesn't it look so clean?! I'm so impressed with myself, and it actually looks like I have a manageable stash. But in reality, I have 10+ large totes of fabric in the garage that I cleared out of this room. I also decided that it was about time to at least start on some UFOs (unfinished objects). I got my last block of the month package (Month 12) for the Long Time Gone Block of the Month that I was a part of with Serendipity Woods. It was a pretty good reminder that I haven't done any blocks for this in 6 months! I started working on the Month 7 blocks and the rest of the fabric from each of the subsequent months is stacked up really nicely in the photo below.
We would get a stack of fat eighths each month to make the quilt super scrappy. Month 7 blocks were TINY little churn dash blocks. I cut everything out for the block and laid them out nicely.
However, I was only able to get 6 of the 21 churn blocks completed. They finish at 3" square! Only 15 more to go… yikes!
My sister is also coming to visit this weekend and the original plan was to have a sewing weekend. However, with the potential house showings, I'm not sure how much we'll actually get to sew which is a huge bummer. It's also one week away from my tour of the Moda Warehouse in Dallas! The engineer me is equally as stoked as the quilter me!
I hope everyone enjoys the weekend! Remember Around the Square is on sale until June 13 for $5.99, and Block 3 of the Fall into a QAL gets released on Tuesday (and it's MY block)!
Your turn! What did you accomplish this week? A block? A quilt top? Link up below!

Sherry, how fun is that, that your sis and you get to hang this weekend! Your studio is sparkling. Best wishes on the sale of your home.
Hang in there, girl. Just keep swimming!
Your sewing room looks amazing, and those little churn dash are so darn cute! Hope the house sells quickly, and I hope you and your sis can sneak in some fun sewing time.
The tour of the Moda warehouse sounds like so much fun and I look forward to learning about it. I hope that you have a good time with your sister and get in more time to sew than you think. Congratulations for getting your house on the market and hopefully it will sell quickly and easily!
Hi Sherry! Sending you good selling vibes – it is a seller’s market here and things have been snapped up in a day or two. You’re studio looks so organized and welcoming to someone who doesn’t sew – too clean!! HAHA! I know you will still have fun with your sister. And I cannot wait to here about your Moda tour!! Happy Friday! ~smile~ Roseanne
Love those little churn dash blocks! They’re so cute! Hope you manage to fit in some sewing time with your sister. Have a great weekend!
Move to wordpress is complete – now to reall learn the ropes! I hope to have a little entry today or tomorrow – so much to learn about in a different way but I feel like I am well on the road. So impressed with your clean study! It is nice to get it all organized and to confront the UFOs. I feel like I have made a huge dent, but have a ways to go. 20+ years of quilting will do that. Amazingly, I have a pretty well controlled stash, and it gets smaller as I join QALs – which need to use something that is primarily in my stash!
Your sewing room looks great. Isn’t it hard getting a house ready to sell?!!! I bet your house will be sold in a day if your market is like ours. I didn’t know there was a Moda Warehouse in Dallas. Where is it and what is it? Can anyone go to it?
