#365DaysOfArtPBQChallenge Week 32, Exercises 218-224

Another week down!  It's Week 32 of the 365 Days Of Art Challenge!   The link up at the bottom of the post will be open all year so be sure to check back to see what other fellow creatives have made with this week's exercises.  Read more about the challenge and catch up on all the previous weeks!

Without further ado, here are my 7 for this week… the good, bad, and ugly!

#218  What have you enjoyed drawing so far? Well isn't that a loaded question!  There are so many things I did NOT like drawing that I had to really think about what I actually liked drawing.  I ended up adding the items I didn't like drawing anyway for good measure.

#219 Color in the concentric circles.  These could be shades of different colors such as green or yellow.  I picked red and blue instead.  This exercise is a repeat in the book.  I ended up using my larger box of colored pencils to get enough reds and blues.  I forget that the I need to not press so hard to get a lighter shade.  The blues are blending together more than I'd like.

#220 Turn these paint splodges into vases of flowers.  I really dislike drawing flowers.  Do you see the bottom right vase?  That was the first one added to and I tried adding foliage then some flowers, however it just looks like I made a pineapple with some flowers sprouting out the top. I should have just stuck with plain stems for all of the vases.

#221 Design a pattern which reminds you of a summery beach.  Beach towels!  I am not usually a beach person but I definitely like beach towels!  So bright and cheerful!

#222 Draw the ingredient in your favorite recipe.  Lately, we have been using our Instapot to cook most of our meals. It's just so fast and easy.  These ingredients make up the beef stew that we love to make.  Outside of the carrot, can you identify what I was trying to draw?

#223 Use each square to experiment with pattern and mark making.  This is like 4th time this exercise has been done, but each time I seem to have a different take on what I want to do.  I decided to make a broken quilt block with the drawing squares and draw some free motion quilting motifs.  I think this would be interesting to actually make a quilt with the sashing dividing the blocks.  By far my favorite exercise this week.

#224 First choose an object to draw.  Practice drawing it with both hands at once.  There are no words for this exercise.  I picked this small potted flower with a ribbon on the pot.  My brain did NOT know what to do.  It was so hard to figure out which hand to focus on that both sides look horrendous.  I feel like if a group of friends did this exercise together, it'd be a comical experience! This exercise was way harder than it would seem.

Now that we've all had a good chuckle and/or grimace, I encourage you to join in the fun and expand your creative horizons too!

Lorna is also releasing a new book, 365 Days of Drawing in October.  I may be doing that book next year as my plans are to make more applique patterns.  However, my drawing skills need some sharpening.  We'll see what the exercises look like before I commit to doing the book.  I'm actually surprised I'm still keeping up with this book as it is and I'm so far in that I can't stop now!

Your turn! Link up below with one or more of the exercises for this week, so exercises #218-224 for this link up!
