#365DaysOfArtPBQChallenge Week 36, Exercises 246-252
Week 36 of the 365 Days Of Art Challenge! This week has a lot of drawing! I actually really enjoyed this week's exercises. The link up at the bottom of the post will be open all year so be sure to check back to see what other fellow creatives have made with this week's exercises. Read more about the challenge and catch up on all the previous weeks!
Without further ado, here are my 7 for this week… the good, bad, and ugly!
#246 Draw some cutlery. This was pretty straightforward, but I had to keep in mind the scale of the handles and the heads of the utensils. I also added a soup spoon (or an Asian soup spoon). I'm not actually sure what they are called, but it's super handy drinking soup!
#247 Try a continuous drawing outside. Visit a park or beach and draw what you see in front of you without lifting your pencil from the page. This will encourage you to consider the relationship and distances between objects in front of you. This was actually really fun. This view is from the deck of my house. We have a small wooded area behind the house with a walking trail. I decided to add color to the drawing because the trees without color ended up blending together. I think this turned out pretty well!
#248 Draw some people. This is a repeat exercise, but I tried really hard to have all of my people not look upset! I still think this turned out better than the previous time I tried to draw faces. I am still not a fan of drawing people.
#249 What are you looking forward to tomorrow? There wasn't anything exciting happening this week, but I was looking forward to sleeping in my own bed. Catch more Zs!
#250 Who or what has made you laugh this week? I have been binge watching America's Got Talent this last week and I love the stand-up comedians that have been on the show! I think I actually watch more TV now that we have YouTube TV than when we had cable. Who would have thought?
#251 Fill this section with geometric shapes. This was probably the most fun exercise in filling a space! I think if I tried to do this exercise earlier in the book, I wouldn't have been as comfortable to just go! It's like improv drawing and just going until you think the piece is done.
#252 Today, create a drawing using one continuous pencil line. Choose an object, and draw the outline without taking your pencil off the page (unless you really need to). This activity helps to coordinate what your eye sees and what your pencil does. This was pretty interesting and I think my drawing looks pretty decent except the bottom of the vase was slightly too large. What do you think? This is what I was drawing:
Now that we've all had a good chuckle and/or grimace, I encourage you to join in the fun and expand your creative horizons too!

Now your challenge is to turn that geometric drawing into a quilt 🙂
The geometric drawing is terrific. I agree with Wendy – a quilt would be awesome!
