Fall Into A QAL Block 10!
Today's the day Block 10 is released! Sandra of Sandra Healy Designs designed this Patchwork Pickles block! The block uses some fun piecing and applique to create it!
My block is made of all Moda Grunge fabrics. My jars are a simple white paper grunge with a gray lid. I chose a mulberry color for the background to give my blocks a bit more than just yellow, orange, and green!
Here are my top tips!
- Create the Jars first to create the base block. Essentially complete the piecing before you think about the applique part.
- For the applique, I used a Daylight Wafer Lightbox to trace all of my pieces. I used Heat 'n Bond Lite as my adhesive. I love it!
- Don't forget to cut out the centers of the bigger pieces before ironing them to the back of the fabric. I used my favorite Karen Buckley scissors to cut out my applique shapes.
- Test out your layout before ironing all the pieces down!
- I chose not to embroider anything on the tag yet. Abbie commemorated this quilt along on the tag and I'm thinking I might do the same!
