My Happy Place Row Along!
Today's my day to share my row that I designed for the My Happy Place Row Along with Marian at Seams to be Sew. I hope you have been visiting all the wonderful bloggers and designers that have been releasing their row patterns and entering to win some fabulous prizes!
I have always been a city girl, and the happy place I chose to design is the sunset/sunrise with a city skyline. When I designed the pattern I was living in Minneapolis, knowing that I had the potential to be moving to another city. This row is inspired by the Minneapolis skyline, but it's definitely more generic and can be representative of any city!
When I moved to Minneapolis in 2013, I was looking at condos in the uptown area and was able to snap this amazing photo of downtown.
Flash forward to early this summer, we were a friend's housewarming and I was able to get another spectacular view of downtown.
There are just so many happy memories that I associate with the skyline view and hanging out with friends on rooftops.
I hope you enjoy my pattern!
Northcott Fabrics sponsored this Row Along and provided my skyline fabric - Artisan Spirit Shimmer in Black. I think it gives the skyline some really fun depth like city lights. Here is the combination of fabric that I chose, I used plain solids for the sunset.
Make sure to share the happiness by visiting the other Bloggers/Designers that have rows that are shared today as well!

Thank you for the lovely skyline row pattern you are sharing with us, Sherry.
I love your choice of fabrics. The skyline is beautiful.
Good Morning Sherry! I have visited Minneapolis several times and I have to say your skyline pattern really represents it well. And those fabric choices!! Just perfect, especially the black Shimmer. Happy Tuesday! ~smile~ Roseanne
Your cityscape is wonderful. I’ve never been to Minneapolis, but based on your photo your row represents it perfectly! The black fabric was a great choice; lovely row!
Love the color choices particularly…thank you!
I love your Skyline. It looks so inviting. Thanks for sharing.
Your skyline is beautiful! Thanks for sharing!
I love that skyline! They are fun quilts to do and how nice to have a Minneapolis one!
Very cool skyline row! My daughter lives in one of those penthouses in Minneapolis.
I love skyline blocks. Thanks for sharing yours.
What a great row pattern. I love the sunset background and how the print for the buildings makes it look like there are lights on and people bustling around the city.
It’s fun to see a photo turned into a quilt. Inspiring!
Love the way you did the skyline. The fabrics are just perfect. Thanks for sharing your row and they why behind it.
Wow! What a great design!! You did a fantastic job!
What a wonderful design, and that black fabric is perfect for the buildings!
While the city is not my favorite place, I do enjoy visiting cities from time to time. I have had many enjoyable visits to several cities over the years.
Your row reminds me of one particular city visit watching the sun set behind the buildings and feeling kind of sad that our visit would soon be ending. Thank you for the pattern. The colors you chose are perfect. It looks easy to do.
Another great row, and one of my favorite types of patterns. I really love skylines, they are just so cool. I think what most people won’t realize about this pattern tho is that it’s not an applique silhouette, but a pieced row, which makes it great for those who love to piece over applique. I’m so happy you came along for the ride this year Sherry, I hope you think about doing it again next year. Hugs!!
Very nice! You’re right – could be adapted to any city. Bet my daughter would like this one!
Such a beautiful sunset! It is fun to see so many happy places. Thank you for sharing.
