Bonnie Bucket Bag (Friday Foto Fun #181)

I made this awesome Bonnie Bucket Bag by Swoon Patterns last Saturday for June's Bag Day!

I used upholstery fabric and vinyl for the exterior of the bag with normal quilting cotton for the interior.  The pattern is written for all quilting cotton.  In hindsight, I think the vinyl is a bit thick for the pocket welt in the front of the bag.  It may not have been so thick if it was a thinner vinyl, but I think overall it still turned out pretty!

The top of the bag has a recessed zipper.  I always questioned why you needed it, but if you hang the bag by the strap without the zipper closed the bag really turns into a bucket!  Who knew!? The interior does not have a slip pocket nor a zipper pocket, so it makes the bag a pretty quick finish!
