2022 Planning Party (Friday Foto Fun #210)
Happy New Year's Eve! I'm joining in with Yvonne at Quilting Jet Girl for the 2022 planning party! I figured this would be a great way for me to detail out my goals for the upcoming year.
Looking back through my blog posts for my 2021 goals, I'm happy to report that I hit all of my Powered By Quilting goals. I've released 12 Simply quilt patterns (counting the pattern from December 2020 stream) and 8 new quilt patterns across the Plum Pudding and Calm Lagoon fabric collections this year! I've also consistently streamed on Twitch almost every Saturday, you'll find me streaming on my Twitch channel! We are missing tomorrow due to New Year's Day! I'll be back on Twitch on January 8th!
For this upcoming year, I'm doing a few things differently. There has been a lot of change in my life these last few weeks and we are currently in limbo until we move to our new home in mid-2022. I'm picking words/themes for 2022 to categorize my goals.
RESET - Health and Wellness
This is my renewed effort at weight loss goals and exercise goals. This was on my 2020 list, but the pandemic was a great excuse to not do anything and I really need to get my health back as a priority. As for a SMART goal, I'd like to maintain a 1lb loss per week to end the year 35-40lbs lighter. This gives me a few weeks to stay flat but a general 1lb loss a week is the goal.
REFOCUS - Powered By Quilting
Due to the move, I couldn't commit to the Spring/Summer 2022 collections with Island Batik. That means after February/March 2022 when my Fall 2021 Signature collection patterns are released, I do not have anything in the plan for the remainder of 2022. This is to give me time to breathe and refocus on what I want to do with PBQ. Selling Wave Pool kits have been a bigger hit than I originally expected and I've recently added notions to my Etsy shop. I have a few other things in the pipeline after I've learned more about filming and video content. We'll see if I can get my vision to video! I'm taking some other business seminars to help me refocus on my future plans as well.
RENEW - Creativity
I am looking to renew my creative mojo. I've always been a maker and I've done a LOT of different crafts. I think Quitling is the one that I've "stuck" with the longest because of the different, interesting aspects of quilting. I've been following different makers in other industries and it's really made me think about trying to learn some new skills. I don't believe it'll be a departure from quilting, more like creative growth!
Anyway, I'm already starting to give my creative mojo a kickstart with making soap! I realized that we use occasions like New Years to make a fresh start/goals, but really we all get endless new beginnings and can start anytime.

You’ve had a very busy 2021, and although not necessarily what you would have ideally planned, I hope that the pause in 2022 helps you refocus and feel creatively ready for what’s next. I wish you all the best in 2022. Happy New Year!
I wish you luck in your 2022 goals. It is hard to be in temporary housing and make anything work, so give yourself a pat on the back for whatever you get done. Happy New Year and best wishes for a creative new year.
