2021 Planning Party

Yvonne at Quilting Jet Girl is hosting this year's planning party again! I figured this would be a great way for me to detail out my goals for the upcoming year.

Looking back through my blog posts for my 2020 goals, I'm happy to report that I hit most of my Powered By Quilting goals but came up short on my Health and Wellness goal.  I did start the year out well but then when the pandemic hit and everything closed down in March, I fell off the wagon and stayed on the ground and honestly didn't get back up.

I've released 11 Simply quilt patterns (the 12th comes out next month) and 3 new quilt patterns with Love & Kisses fabric this year!   I've also consistently streamed on Twitch every weekend (except in May when my grandma passed). Saturdays from 8am till about noon Mountain, you'll find me streaming on my Twitch channel!  As for fabric consumption versus purchasing... this one was harder to track, but my stash is visibly smaller than it was a year ago!  I consider that a win!

For this upcoming year,  I really only have one overarching goal.  Make more video content. Streaming every Saturday makes IRL (in real life) content, but to edit it and make it in consumable chunks as well as making tutorials would be something I desire to do.  About 20 years ago, I was in the Communications magnet in my high school wanting to go into film and broadcasting.  I made the decision to move into engineering for college and figured that it was a way for a more steady income.  Little did I know about the explosion of YouTube and all the other video platforms in the future.  So I'm off to catch up and play where my original passions lay!  I'm already starting with adding exclusive video content with the Piece & Love Block of Month that kicks off on Friday! It'll only get better from here!

As for the other things happening in 2021, I have them divided into "Execute" and "Needs Planning" categories.

In the "Execute" category, these are things that just need to be executed/released.

Quilt alongs:

• • Piece & Love BOM - goes through the end of 2021
  • Lucky Stars QAL - goes through September

Patterns:

• • 9 new patterns all written up (3 fully tested and ready to go, 6 needs final testing)

Twitch Streams

• • Bag Days

In the "Needs Planning" category, these are things in the works but still need more time spent on these items.

Quilt Alongs:

• • Partners in Designs Mystery QAL #5
  • 2022 BOM for Patreon subscribers (yup, this is going to be a yearly thing!)
  • Planning for W*** P*** BOM in 2022  (shhhhh, it's a secret for now but it's already written and ready to go)

Patterns:

• • Finalize designs for the Fall/Winter 2021 signature collection with Island Batik (and obviously write the patterns)
  • Rewrite and rerelease Ink & Indigo from LP&Q a few years ago

Twitch Streams:

• • Finish out the 2021 Simply Series designs and patterns

I hope by this time next year, the execute section has everything needed to have a great 2022 and that I can start working on the next year's content!  My planner tendencies are showing... I know it.
